History

Kari Heino started to experiment with sound design and make electronic music back in 1998, after having played several musical instruments from the age of 4, and attending the renowned Swedish “Adolf Frediks Musikklasser” music school and “Kungsholmens Gymnasium/Stockholms Musikgymnasium” music high school. 2004 was the year of a lot of positive change in Kari’s life, and that’s when the name and the idea of Upright Sounds came to be.

But soon Kari wanted to make the music sound better, and become unhindered by all the technicalities behind the music making process. And therefore studied for the Audio Engineering Diploma at the well known SAE Institute (School of Audio Engineering) and graduated the 26’th of may 2006 with exceptional grades.

A week after graduation, Kari started working full-time from June 2006 to October 2008 as Audio Engineer, Video Editor and Camera Operator for an Audio/Video/Multimedia Production Company in central Stockholm called Frekvens Produktion AB.

From 2009 to 2010, Kari worked full-time as Audio Engineer in the TV industry for Mediatec Broadcast (NEP Sweden). And since March 2010 Kari has been working full-time at Upright Sounds as a freelance Audio Engineer, Music Producer and DJ.

Upright Sounds is today an Audio Engineering and Music Production Company, providing technical knownledge and practical competence for various audio/music venues such as Television Programmes, Live Concerts, Studio Recordings, Film Sound, Music Production and DJ events.
